HSA Banquet

Our annual Honorary Service Awards (HSA) Banquet is a wonderful evening of celebrating individuals and/or groups that have been honored by a local PTA Unit or by Council for outstanding service to children and youth.  Award recipients receive a pin and certificate* and are permanently recorded in California State PTA's HSA records.  

*Recipients are usually presented with their pin and certificate during an assembly at the school site.  Council recipients are presented with their pin/certificate at the HSA Banquet event.

Award Categories:

• Very Special Person Award:  Given to individuals or organizations to recognize having contributed to the PTA or school community in a special way.

• Honorary Service Award:  Given to an individual or organization in the PTA, school or community for recognition of outstanding service to children and youth.  This award may be given to a person whose contributions have been significant over a continuing period of time.

• Continuing Service Award:  Given to an individual or organization in the PTA, school or community for recognition of outstanding service to children and youth.  This award may be given to a person whose contributions have been significant over a continuing period of time.

• Golden Oak Service Award:  May be given to an individual or organization that has made significant contributions to the welfare of children and youth in the PTA, school or community.  This award should be given to recognize exceptional service to children and youth;  it is California State PTA's most prestigious award.

• Outstanding Teacher Award:  May be given to a teacher in special recognition for outstanding service in positively impacting the lives and welfare of children and youth in the PTA, school, or community.

• Outstanding Administrator Award:  May be given to an administrator in special recognition for outstanding service in positively impacting the lives and welfare of children and youth in the PTA, school, or community.

Each pin/certificate is purchased by the Unit or Council that honors the recipient, the proceeds of which help fund California State PTA's Scholarship and Grant Program.

Donations may be given by PTAs or by individuals in tribute to a person, a group, or in memoriam.  The donation may be made in any amount.  An acknowledgement card or certificate, as requested, will be sent when a donation of $10.00 or more is made.  Anyone or any group may donate to the HSA program fund.  Click here for the printable donation form.
